About the award
The award was established in 2007 and first awarded in 2007 for papers published in the year 2006. The award is named after Professor Paul Geroski who served as co-Managing Editor of the IJIO from 1987-1992, and who passed away in 2005. The award consists of a monetary amount.
The two best papers published in the International Journal of Industrial Organization each year. The criteria are pre-defined by the Editors and papers shortlisted by a voting committee.
This is a closed nominations process: the papers are selected by the editorial board of the journal and the board is required to select winners from papers published in the journal the previous year.
The prize winners are announced in the last journal issue of the year (for articles appearing in the previous year’s volume of International Journal of Industrial Organization).
